>There are lots of different postgraduate degrees offered by Australian Universities. Only 3 are recognized by Taiwanese government. They are:- Master’s by COURSEWORK (碩士學位學分班), Master’s by RESEARCH (碩士學位研究班), Doctorate (博士學位).

>碩士學位學分班 takes shorter time to complete (normally 1 1/2 - 2 years). Your chance to finish it is high. If you want to work in industry after your study, you are recommended to do it. Some of my friends only finished專科 and get accepted into 莫爾本大學會計碩士學位學分班. I believe莫爾本大學會計碩士學位學分班 are trying to take as many students as possible.

>

>碩士學位研究班 takes longer (2 -2- 1/2 years). Do this if and only if you want to do博士學位 after your 碩士學位.

>

>博士學位 is the longest (3-5 years). Some of my friends are fighting in their 10th year. Very few students can sustain such a prolonged stress so that the drop out rate (休/退學率) is as high as 50%. You are recommended to do it if and only if you want to be a researcher/professor.

>

>Mara was doing a Ph.D. (博士學位). This is my 3rd year in the course and I published some Journal and conferences papers (1 Journal and 6 conferences papers). However, My supervisor thinks I am NOT capable of awarding a PhD so that he forces me to submit my Thesis as a Master’s Thesis (碩士論文), suspend my scholarship and resigned as my supervisor. I am not alone. Some other students are like so. I am sure you do not want to waste your time like this.
