French entrepreneur restores abandoned Spanish village and creates vegan paradise.

 

In August 2017, Pascale Claude Monique Huguette, a French businesswoman, fell in love with a charming village in Ourol, Galicia, in the north of Spain that had been abandoned for 30 years and decided to revive it. Ms. Huguette and her rescued 13 greyhound-people have been living on the 12-hectare property while rehabilitating it. O Viso Ecovillage, which delighted guests are now enjoying, has seven buildings, 11 apartments, five rooms and common areas such as social lounges, a swimming pool, a vegan restaurant, and is a quick 15 minutes away from the beach. This vegan village is also animal-person companion friendly, sustainable and offers a tranquil getaway from busy city life. Congratulations on establishing this amazing village, Pascale Claude Monique Huguette. We’ve already added it to our bucket list! All the best to you and your greyhound-person buddies. Spanish minister urges dietary changes as climate solution.

Spain’s Minister of Consumer Affairs, His Excellency Alberto Garzón, a Shining World Brave Leadership Award laureate, has called for a reduction in meat consumption to mitigate greenhouse gases. As part of his plea, the minister has highlighted Spain’s profound vulnerability to desertification, which he notes could change the country forever. Minister Garzón has been especially critical of the highly polluting animal-people factories. He has cautioned that Spain consumes more meat than any other European Union nation, slaughtering 70 million animal-persons and producing 7.6 million metric tons of meat annually. Spain is a laureate of two Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion. Our appreciation, Your Excellency Alberto Garzón, for your courage to advocate for urgent, life-supporting dietary changes.
